Read Write Learn for Success

Welcome to Read Write Learn

Our goal is to impact the lives of children. There are many children who need help achieving the educational goals that they need. In order to attain those goals, many need extra help in the areas of reading and writing. This is why Read Write Learn for Success is here to help our children in every possible way.

About

Our Director

Ruby Jackson started Read Write Learn for Success to help our students achieve by increasing their abilities in reading and writing. She knew that far too many of our students were lacking in this area. Mrs. Jackson taught students in predominantly black inner-city schools and she noticed that they were not reaching the levels of expectancy they needed to attain. She noticed that reading and the ability to write what was expected, seemed to cause difficulty for too many of the children. Her desire was to start a free service where children could come to receive additional help in reading and writing. Mrs. Jackson has spent the last 45+ years working with children in Language Arts, Music and Computer Science. She attended and received degrees from several universities such as, Webster, Maryvilley, Fontbonne and Lindenwood University, to help prepare her for the jobs of educating and helping our students. She has received degrees in Teaching (MAT), Music Education (BM), Computer Science (MS), Counseling (MS) and Administration (E.Ds.). Mrs. Jackson has also won awards from various agencies, sororities and companies for her excellence in teaching. She has dedicated her skills, talents and abilities to helping our students achieve – culminating in the creation of Read Write Learn for Success.

From Our Director

I am Ruby Jackson and I have over 40 years’ experience teaching children. In my years as a teacher, I have taught music, Computer Science, self-contained classroom, reading, writing and a plethora of other subjects. I love working with children and I know that in order to reach them, we must give them something they want. One thing that helped to make my years successful was the fact that I always engaged our children in fun activities. This is something that will give them the desire to keep striving.
